This weekend, from October 4 to 6, the Temple of Speed in Monza will host the third and final round of the Euro 4 Championship. The Championship, promoted by ACI Sport and WSK Promotion, is set to conclude its second season by crowning the new Champion.
The standings are still wide open, with all the top 10 drivers still in the running for the title. After a slow start, Freddie Slater from Prema Racing bounced back in round 2 and secured two wins and a third-place finish at the Red Bull Ring, propelling the newly crowned Italian F4 Champion to the top of the Euro 4 Championship standings with 94 points. Echoing the battle that electrified the Italian series, Slater’s closest rival in Euro 4 is Japan’s Hiyu Yamakoshi from Van Amersfoort Racing. Yamakoshi, with 2 wins and two podium finishes in the season’s previous two rounds, has accumulated 83 points, 11 behind Slater. In third place, Akshay Bohra flies the flag for US Racing, still very much in the title fight with 78 points, thanks to two wins at the first Mugello round and three additional top 10 finishes.
In fourth, Gustav Jonsson, the Swedish driver for Van Amersfoort Racing, has 54 points and three podium finishes to his name. He is followed by Tomass Stolcermanis of Prema Racing with 52 points, his best result being a P2 in the first of three races at the Red Bull Ring. On that occasion, he was followed by his teammate, Alpine Academy driver Kean Nakamura-Berta, who finished third on the podium. The Japanese driver is currently sixth in the standings with 45 points.
In seventh place, with 35 points and a best result of second in the last Austrian race, is Rashid Al Dhaheri from Prema Racing.
Rounding out the top 10, and the last drivers still mathematically in the fight for the win, are a trio of US Racing drivers: Germany’s Maxim Rehm with 34 points, Australia’s Jack Beeton with 30 points, and his fellow countryman Gianmarco Pradel with 22 points.
Eight drivers are still battling for the Rookie Trophy. Leading the way are the two Prema drivers, Stolcermanis and Nakamura-Berta, with the Latvian ahead by just one point: 98 to the Japanese driver’s 97. Rehm holds third place with 83 points, followed by Prema Racing’s Mercedes junior Alex Powell in fourth with 62 points. Fifth place is held by PHM AIX Racing’s Maksimilian Popov with 48 points, followed closely by Jenzer Motorsport’s Enea Frey, just one point behind. Seventh is Luca Viisoreanu, the Romanian driver from Real Racing, with 26 points. The last driver still mathematically in the hunt for the class title is Taipei’s Enzo Yeh, representing R-ace GP, with 24 points so far.
In the Team Trophy, Prema Racing leads with 177 points, followed by US Racing in second with 152 points, and Van Amersfoort Racing in third with 137 points. In the final round, up to 129 points are still available for the Team Trophy.
With 3 races to go and everything still to play for, this weekend’s Euro 4 Championship action promises to be spectacular.
The schedule kicks off with a collective test session on Thursday, October 3, with 4 hours available for familiarization with the Monza circuit from 14:00 to 18:00. On Friday, October 4, there will be two free practice sessions of 40 minutes each, starting at 9:40 and 13:20. On Saturday, October 5, the weekend heats up with the first qualifying session from 8:30 to 8:45, followed by a short break and then the second session from 8:55 to 9:10. Also on Saturday is Race 1, a 30-minute + 1 lap race that will light up the Monza asphalt starting at 14:50. Race 2 (30 minutes + 1 lap) will take place on Sunday, October 6, at 8:40, followed by the season finale in the afternoon with Race 3 (30 minutes + 1 lap) at 15:40.
All the action will be broadcast live on the Euro 4 Championship's YouTube and Facebook channels, as well as on ACI Sport TV (Sky channel 228, Tivù Sat channel 52, and streaming on www.acisport.it). Furthermore, coverage will extend to a wide network of international television broadcasters, including the DAZN platform, ensuring global visibility for a championship that has an always growing audience in the junior racing landscape.
